We consider the chaotic oscillator synchronization and propose new approach for detecting the synchronized behavior of chaotic oscillators. This approach is based on the analysis of different time scales in the time series generated by coupled chaotic oscillators. We show that complete synchronization, phase synchronization, lag synchronization, and generalized synchronization are particular cases of the synchronized behavior called the time-scale synchronization. The quantitative measure of the chaotic oscillator synchronous behavior is proposed. This approach is applied for the coupled Rossler systems.
